Yeah I have to agree. And not just from a 'Google is CLEARLY EVIL' viewpoint, it adds a point of failure that the catalog's admins have absolutely no control over.

There's nothing wrong with serving jQuery fom a CDN.
It makes things easier and a bit faster.

Why does the Catalog depend on Google APIs? I do not wish to use or support google products and would be happy if there was a way to avoid this
