Curly brackets are a pain in the anus to type. It's the same problem as with BBCode's brackets.

OP here. Curly brackets are shit indeed, but you could replace them with round/square brackets. The latter are really easy to type.

It's a real shame we never got this.

Allow for troff markup instead, it's better.
